Chifundo Angel of Mercy 2024

CHIFUNDO ANGEL OF MERCY

THIS IS A SUMMARY OF THE PROJECTS THAT WE HAVE DONE IN THE PAST YEAR IN MALAWI.

Being the doers of the word not hears, Chifundo Angel of Mercy has been very active in helping the needy in Malawi (Africa) especially in the rural areas where majority of people lack the necessities of life. Malawi, a small country in Southern Africa, has the fourth highest percentage of people living in extreme poverty in the world. In Malawi, more than two-thirds of the population lives in extreme poverty, according to Opportunity International 70% of the population live on less than $2/day.

During the Christmas season of 2022, we visited a remote area in southern region part. We managed to brought Christmas spirit of joy, love and caring to ten families by providing them with ($150) each worth of toiletries, groceries and clothing.

 March 2023, Malawi was hit by Tropical Cyclone Freddie as a result of heavy rains and winds which lasted for weeks, many lives and property were lost, and 19,000 people in southern region were displaced. Chifundo Angel of Mercy with the support of our donors and well-wishers, we managed to reach out and donated essential items Including: Beddings, Mattresses, groceries, toiletries, sanitary products to 576 people. And, assisted 3 families with a stipend of ($150) each for shelter.

In the month of October 2023, we had a surprise visit to ten families in the remote area of a District called Chiradzulu. Upon arrival in this area, it came to our attention that these families are been taken care by widowed grandmothers who are solely responsible of their own grandchildren, and their all lacked essential needs including Food, clothing, and clean water. We donated ($100) to each family and it was fulfilling to witness the grandmother’s gratitude by our gift to their families. That donation allowed them to have good meals for almost a month.

During the Christmas season in 2023. We visited a rural village called Phalombe.   Since it was a festive season, we felt that we had to go and share the word of God as well as celebrate Christmas holidays with 10 families of that village. We donated ($120) per each household.

Arriving at a small village in Phalombe, we saw how people are struggling with poverty, especially the elderly and the orphans. With the help of Little Rock Church, we donated assorted items like eggs, fruit juices, soya pieces relish and amount of money of one hundred and fifty thousand kwacha to each of the ten families that we identified. Since it was a festive season, we felt that we had to go and share the word of God as well as the items mentioned before so that they may celebrate with us during this festive season.

As the bible says:

When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind and you will be blessed. Although they can never pay you back, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous. When quoting this verse, it gives us a clear picture of why we have to help the poor. It is so why very important because these people need to be groomed spiritually as well as mentally.

During the same month of December 2023, we manage to donate amount of money of U$1000.00 which is equivalent 1.2 million MWK to an orphanage named Mana in the Capital City of Malawi, Lilongwe. This orphanage cares for over eight hundred orphans who are all based at the orphanage.

We find it in our hearts that even though these orphans have a shelter; it is our duty to come up with something that could help to proclaim the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through this donation, the orphanage managed to pay school fees, buying uniforms and other necessities for the kids.

We know that the money was not enough for eight hundred plus children, but as the bible says in Acts 20:35;

In everything I did I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the word of the Lord Jesus himself said: it is more blessed to give than to receive.

We believe that God will continue to bless us through our donors, so we can reach out to the needy, especially in the rural areas where people has got no hope for where the next meal will come from.

We ask God to guide us through this work which we have started. It is not just a work, but a mission to save souls and help the needy which our Lord Jesus Christ has instructed us to do all days of our lives.
